Living life to the fullest…one step at a time
Diana
why I Hike
1. I’m not dead. Too many in my life can’t say this, they died too young.
2. I want time for myself. After taking care of others and being the “glue”, I’m drained and need to recharge so I can again be there for others.
3. I love nature and am happiest in the river surrounded by birds, fish, alligators and animals. I welcome the opportunity to be immersed in nature.
4. Meeting others doing the same thing. The hiker community is unique.
5. Learning new skills: hiking, vlogging creating a website and a blog.
6. Moving beyond my comfort zone…way beyond! …and face fears like using a gas stove.
7. To embrace the “suck”..I’ve been tired and worked long stressful hours but never cold and wet which should be interesting.
8. To become a bad ass old lady hiker! BAOLH
9. To recharge creativity.
10. To support others on the trail.
11. To challenge myself to do more than seems possible..to truly put one foot in front of the other and take it one step at a time.
12. To think and dream, write poetry and sketch to capture my experience.
13. To inspire others to follow their dreams.
14. to have fun, laugh and see new places.
15. To put my hand on the Katahdin sign and know I did it.
Explore The World
This beautiful river was saved from destruction by people who cared. Today, groups continue to protect the wildlife and the water. Leave no trace is not only for hikers. Leave no trace is a motto to live by.
Welcome to Florida
The AT may have bears and moose and deer and snakes…in Florida we have gators. The sign appears on the hiking trail closest to my home. River on one side swamp on the other…now that is hiking!
